,Purpose of the position
The Education Sales Consultant is the primary business development salesperson for the k-12 education market based in Mexico and supporting education sales in the Latin America Region. In addition, the ESC works with Government and Institutions key decision makers to introduce SMART solutions through the adoption of our products.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- ESC will be responsible for creating a territory plan that identifies priority countries/regions and strategies in order to hit a specific territory revenue target.
- ESC will build and maintain sustainable relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders in the LATAM Education Sector.
- ESC is responsible for introducing SMART’s product solutions and working with the Education key decision makers from the concept phase through revenue recognition.
- ESC is responsible for identifying new funding opportunities within a Country or region and introducing SMART to these new contacts.
- ESC is responsible for organizing and hosting key events, including trade shows, executive visits and channel training, as well as representing SMART at relevant events/conferences.
- ESC will provide input into strategic consortiums, training centers, as well identifying potential local alliances that may bolster SMART’s presence in key education markets.
- ESC will develop programs to drive the creation of local content available for SLS (i.e. content creation seminars, lesson of the week, publishers)
- ESC will support closing of opportunities within SMART’s Channel
Skills Required
- ESC responsibilities and skill set include the following: Outstanding interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team environment that consists of the Area Manager, Channel Manager, Demand Generation, and Professional Development Specialist.
- Strong working knowledge of SMART’s products and software and the ability to learn new SMART solutions as they are introduced are required.
- Ability to present in front of large groups with the confidence and knowledge of both hardware and software as presentation tools.
- Have the experience, credibility and gravitas to operate at very senior levels within these complex customer organisations and needs to operate in political environments with multiple decision makers and sensitive public messages.
- Strong Education Acumen or former teaching skills.
- Must demonstrate a high level of proficiency with technology.
- Must be a self-starter with technology and have the ability to learn new skills independently.
Working conditions
- Successful candidates must be able to work independently from a home office with the ability to travel anywhere within the territory for meetings and product demos.
- Successful candidates must be able to get a passport and have the ability to travel to Canada.
Education And Work Experience
- Degree in business, education, marketing or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in education or sales for a fast-paced, technology-driven business.
- Ideal experience as former educator, experience in working with educators.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Proven aptitude for developing relationships with key decision-makers.
- Strong ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to self-motivate.
- Good time-management, record-keeping and planning skills.
- Native Spanish speaker, fluent in English, Portuguese is a plus
- A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one or issues travelling into LATAM.
- 70 percent of work hours travelling in LATAM region.
