Purpose of the position

This role reports to the Senior Director of Education Sales and Professional Development and is a member of the global education sales team.  You will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy required to maximize revenue growth in international software.

You will bring valued experience in software sales, enabling, and developing strong channels. As part of a dotted-line reporting structure to the International VP of Sales, you will develop and execute software strategies to land new customers, drive adoption, expand business, and renew clients with an emphasis in the education market. Working with the local commercial teams, you will establish and manage the software sales pipeline for the core International markets.  You will also be asked to perform cross-functional leadership duties in strategic sales opportunities, new initiatives, process improvements, and business decisions to drive software growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and develop the strategy for international software growth in collaboration with Regional Leaders. 
  • Collaborate with channel and education teams to execute strategies to expand software growth
  • Recruit and develop software-only channel partners
  • Manage and report on the international software forecast on a weekly basis
  • Focus on growing the software pipeline with net-new business
  • Responsible for meeting monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Support channel and education teams to deliver renewal rate targets by pods
  • Collate field staff feedback and share with product teams, learn teams, and adopt teams
  • Communicate software product updates to the pods
  • Support the pods in localizing product marketing and sales positioning
  • Partner with internal teams to create and drive an International Customer Advisory Council.
  • Deliver sales presentations to close large opportunities in UK, DACH, Eastern Europe and other International Core regions
  • Performing other duties as required

Education and work experience

  • Degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • At least 5 years’ software and/or SaaS sales experience preferably in an Education or Technology business
  • Experience with SaaS channel in UK, DACH preferred, other international regions beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and teams both locally and remotely
  • Demonstrated reasoning and problem-solving abilities with a high level of self-motivation
  • Strong sales skills
  • Strong time-management and planning skills
  • High degree of comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to approach tasks with a positive attitude while focusing on results
  • Education and technology acumen a strong plus
  • A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one

  • This position has no direct reports

Additional Details

  • Home-office-based role, fast-paced work environment
  • Travel may be required up to 50%
  • To maintain ongoing communication with SMART’s head office located in Calgary, Alberta, you will be required to attend regular meetings and calls that take place outside of normal business hours.
