Team Lead, Demand Generation North America (D461)

Purpose of the position

To support us in this mission, we are looking for a Team Lead to lead our established Demand Generation team in North America. Reporting to the Manager, Demand Generation, the Team Lead, Demand Generation North America, leads a team that drives demand for SMART solutions primarily in Canada and the USA.


Your contributions would include: 

  • Own and lead SMART’s North American Demand Generation efforts, ensuring consistency and reliability of outputs and initiatives.
  • Partner across all of the Learn, Buy, Adopt and Customer Success teams to streamline processes and offerings that support shared internal and external customers.
  • Maximize the value of SMART’s leadership position in education to drive new market entries, penetrating new segments and the sale of complementary products
  • Embody a deep understanding of our product and industry competitors as well as the journey and needs of our customers
  • Use innovative nurturing strategies and tactics to help SMART thrive in new and expanding markets
  • Promote and encourage the retention and growth of current customers by leveraging principles of positive demand generation
  • Continuously develop new strategies to increase customer engagement and optimize conversion rates
  • Lead the go to market plan for market segments across North America
  • Lead the NA Demand Generation team in building and optimizing account-based marketing programs and develop compelling content aligned with messaging and mapped to personas and buyer stages to generate qualified opportunities.
  • Maintain close contact with the external marketing community to look for new and innovative demand generation concepts and ideas
  • Manage the North American demand generation budget and regularly monitor performance of the marketing mix to test and optimize.
  • Effectively use leadership best practices to engage, motivate, develop and Inspire Greatness within your team. 


Your qualifications would include: 

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a marketing professional with a minimum of 3 years at the manager or team lead level
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and priority management skills
  • Experience in global business, technology, education and B2B are preferred
  • Ability to develop productive and meaningful cross functional relationships
  • Expert understanding of proven Demand Generation methods
  • Driven by challenge and a desire to work collaboratively to succeed collectively
  • Naturally curious with a penchant for “thinking big”
  • Empathetic to customer needs and helping others meet their goals
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry tech, i.e. HubSpot
  • Demonstrated track record of creating valuable conversions from targeted demand generation efforts
